As the  2020 Consumer Electronics Show  draws to a close, it is time to look back at a few of the devices, gadgets and innovations that garnered the most buzz on its show floor. With more than 4,400 companies having exhibitions, 307 of which were in the 2018 Fortune Global 500, this year’s show has already proven to be larger than ever before. As you can imagine, it is almost impossible to narrow down all that tech into any kind of definitive best of list. Google is going big on its Assistant. The feature is now available for any smartphone with at least Android Marshmallow, and more and more people are using it to help optimize their daily lives. These tips and tricks will help you master the Google Assistant and make the most of your new helper. Getting started with Google Assistant Set up Google Assistant for the first time If you've never used Google Assistant before, don't worry - despite its complex capabilities, it is simple to set up. If your phone is running any version of Android from Marshmallow and up, then long press the home button to open Google Assistant (or say "OK Google" if your voice activation is already turned on). Welcome to the 299th edition of android apps weekly and the first one of 2020! Here are the headlines from the last week: Android 11 might have some neat stuff. A couple of features may include the ability to take scrolling screenshots like on web pages for easier capture of more content. However, another potential feature is the ability to record video in longer than 4GB segments. We’ll learn more about Android 11 later this year but it’s nice to see Google fixing some basic problems and adding some fun features already. WhatsApp and Telegram had some decent updates this last week. WhatsApp now includes disappearing messages and  you can click here to see how those work . Meanwhile,  Telegram’s update is a bit more substantial . It includes a new theme editor, the ability to send messages when you return online, better message scheduling control, better location sharing, and support for podcasts and audiobooks.
